Hajer Requiq

Biography

Tunisian poet Hajer Requiq, born in 1997, writes in both Arabic and English. Her recent recognitions include being named a finalist for the American Lucky Jefferson Poetry Prize (2025), shortlisted for Canada’s Foster Poetry Prize (2025), and nominated for the Pushcart Prize (2025) by DMQ Review. She also received second place internationally in The Capilano Review’s Autumn 2025 writing competition and earned a distinguished placing at the Cúirt International Festival of Literature in 2026.
Her English-language poetry has appeared in Chestnut Review, Poetry Ireland, and Only Poems, while her Arabic texts have been published in Nakhil (Iraq), Al-Umma Culturelle (Egypt), and the newspaper Uruk.
